Meeting a chat friend?

I am planning to meet this guy with whom I had been chatting from past 6 months. He has studied from the same institute in India from where I had studied but we have never met . But we have common friends. He is in Germany now and thus he chats from there. We like each other. Fortunately , I have got the scholarship to Germany, to go and study in their university for a few months so its just by luck,one in thousand chances that I got the scholarship for studying in Germany ... thus we have got the chance to meet up in person. My question is should I go and meet him? I would be staying with him for a couple of days in his room . I have come to Germany with a couple of friends of mine , I don't want to let them know that I want to meet this guy n that I am going to meet him and spending few days with him. My friends always hang out with me so just running away from them stealithly is sounding a bit weird idea. I know they won't understand. Moreover my parents are also conventional and if I tell them that I am going to stay with a guy in his room, they wont appreciate it either. I am from a very conventional family and so I have never had such days and nights spending with a guy . Moreover I have further apprehensions regarding my stay with him because he is very moody and we used to fight alot while chatting, and I really don't know what kind of person he must be. Neither can't I share my problem with my friends who have come with me to Germany from India.. how should I go about the whole thing? Am I being an emotional fool that I am meeting and sharing room with this guy whom I have not even met once but just chatted. Although my intuitions say that he is not a bad guy , but still I am little afraid mainly for how to materialise the plan of meeting him without my friends and parents knowing it and also how safe this idea is regarding staying with this guy? I have talked to a common guy friend and he says to go ahead because he ia a nice guy...should I go ahead? I have got this chance just purely by luck to come to germany and meet with the guy with whom I used to chat from India while he studies here engineering in Berlin...Is it a good idea? pleeeaaaseeee help!
