What song/band/music should I learn on bass?

I like Jazz-Funk like Azymuth and also kinda Smooth Jazz like The Rippingtons, but soft funk or funk-pop is always nice. Not really into the conventional 'Bassist's bassists' like Flea and John Entwhistle and all that. :)
