Is having forlorn-looking women at the cover of books a fad nowadays?

I agree with you. So many books are so similar! What happened to a love story that was actually a love story, not a "this is how they got together story?" Or what happened to people writing stories that are so detailed and written so beautifully instead of with just short sentences and brief detail? I hate fads, too. Everyone is into vampires so now I have to write a vampire novel! No, I write about things that I would love to happen to me, or random fantasies I have, or even dreams. I get so succumbed into my stories I daydream what it would be like if these characters were with me right now! People nowadays just write to make money. What happened to expression? Creation? Artistry?
